Lydia is a motivated and creative writer who has succeeded in her writing coursework and been a participant at numerous writers' workshops, She was the 2016 winner of the Stan and Wick Undergraduate Poetry Prize. She enjoys writing mainly poetry, short fiction, and sociology and education-based rhetoric.
Lydia is experienced in tutoring individuals from middle school to PhD level, as well as mentoring and training new tutors. She is comfortable with using online as well as face-to-face methods in order to empower and instruct writers based on their needs and concerns.
A senior Integrated Language Arts major, Lydia has been working with students grades 7-12 in her coursework at Kent State University for over a year. She also has experience teaching creative writing to students grades 2-8 at Thurber House, as well as through the Wick Poetry Center.
